Two days ago I was out feeding our breeders and I said “Joelle looks pregnant!” I thought NOT POSSIBLE, all sows have been separated from Thor since before they gave birth in June, July and August! But man she was definitely “bagging up.” Which is when a female pig starts to get milk in.

I sent this picture to some of my breeder friends and they said “You have hours to days left until you have babies!” I texted Farm Daddy that we’ll need to set up a farrowing area (where they safely have babies) like tonight. Not happy, we sprung into action getting that ready, and went out one hour later and there they were. Ten babies! WHAT THE WHAT?!?

Sadly, she had already laid on seven of them. We grabbed the three remaining babies and brought them inside to get them warm, dried and fed. We corralled Joelle inside and are currently setting girlfriend up with a warm quarters to raise her three remainin babies. Momma is doing well, the three little pigs are fat and happy and when Dad gets back from Menards we’ll make the happy reunion. 🎉 I guess?!?

Congrats Joelle… you always give us a run for our money. Anyone looking for some $125 pigs in 4-8 weeks? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Just a heads up for breeder friends… turns out, they can breed through a fence. Must be why they suggest to keep them at least five feet apart. 🤷🏻‍♀️😬🤷🏻‍♀️
