Let’s say you have a hanging weight of: 127.5 lbs. which is a little on the big side. Here’s a ROUGH breakdown of weights from each section:
Loin: - 2 roasts – 2.12 and 3.13 lbs. - Chops (4 packs of 2 each) – 2.5, 2.6 ,2.6, and 2.3 lbs.
Shoulder: - Boston Butt – 11.3 lbs. - Picnic – 9.1 lbs.
Ribs: - 2.8 lbs. (a lot smaller than most people assume that they are getting)
Belly (Bacon): - 9 lbs.
Leg: - Ham - 9.8 lbs.
Ham Steaks: - 2.7, 2.8, 2.4, and 2.5 lbs.
Sausage: - 17 lbs.
That is 80 - 100 lbs of pasture raised pork, fed organic, non-GMO feed, humanely raised and harvested. Stays fresh in the freezer for up to one year.
The above list is an estimate and your actual share may differ. Double this for a whole pork share. Custom cutting available, such as thickness of chops, size of roasts, optional curing of bacon and hams.
The meat will fit into a 100 quart cooler. This is about the same volume as three grocery bags. In terms of freezer space, it’s more than you’ll want to try and cram into your refrigerator freezer. A very small chest freezer (8 cubic feet) will hold all of this easily. It seems like a lot of meat, but it somehow disappears way faster than you think.
